Holy Family Cemetery

Located at 6124 Highway 31 in Caledonia, Holy Family Cemetery spans seven peaceful, wooded acres and has served area families since the 1850s. Its history dates back to November 14, 1853, when land for the site was generously donated by Felix Haas to establish a local Catholic resting place.

Because of these early roots, many of the individuals resting here are directly connected to the Haas family and the pioneer generations of the area.

For many decades, the cemetery stood right alongside its companion parish. Established as a mission of St. Louis Catholic Church of Caledonia in 1856, the adjoining Holy Family Church served the local Catholic community until a structure fire, believed to have started from nearby burning grass, destroyed the building in April 1930. The church was not rebuilt after the fire, but the hallowed grounds of the cemetery were preserved.

On December 19, 1980, Holy Family officially united with Calvary, Old Holy Cross, and Holy Cross under the administration of the Catholic Cemetery Association of Racine.

Today, the property continues to provide traditional in-ground burial options, maintaining a quiet, historic sanctuary that honors the faith and heritage of our local community.
