Calvary Cemetery & Mausoleum

Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum, located at 2510 Kinzie Ave holds a significant place in the local landscape of Racine. Established in 1853, it stands as one of our oldest and most serene burial grounds.

The initial six acres of the site were purchased by Martin Kundig and John Carlin, serving the needs of the St. Ignatius congregation, which was the Catholic community in Racine at the time.

Over the last century and a half, the grounds have grown to encompass 17 acres of wooded space. It continues to serve families by providing a range of resting options, including traditional in-ground burial, mausoleum crypt entombment, and columbarium inurnment.

Being part of the Catholic Cemetery Association of Racine, it remains a place where history and faith intersect, offering a quiet environment for families to reflect and honor their loved ones.

It is worth noting that while it shares the name with the historic Calvary Cemetery in Milwaukee, they are distinct and separate locations with their own unique heritage and administration.
We are dedicated maintaining our site on Kinzie Avenue as a dignified space and sacred space for all who interred at this cemetery.
